Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Huffman grew up right here in Southeastern Kentucky. She graduated from South Laurel High School, and went on to receive a degree in biology with honors from Eastern Kentucky University. While at EKU, she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, the Mock Trial team, and the Microbiology club. She completed two years of undergraduate research and received a very competitive summer research grant from the American Society of Microbiology and Biochemistry her senior year of college. She then moved to Birmingham, AL to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry. After Sarah graduated from Optometry school, she moved to Lexington, KY where she completed a residency in ocular disease at the University of Kentucky. When Sarah is not working, she likes reading, cycling, and traveling the world whenever possible. She also has two dogs, Milo and Specs.
